Grain Elevators Get Approval
MADISON - Two, new grain elevators have been given the go-ahead for construction in western Madison County. County Commissioners voted two-to-nothing Tuesday to grant a 25-year conditional use permit to Archer Daniels Midland to erect an $8 million dollar facility about eight miles northeast of Newman Grove. Commissioners also granted a 25-year permit to Farmers Pride Cooperative in Battle Creek to allow it to build a new elevator south of Battle Creek, adjacent to the company's current fertilizer plant.
