Governor helps break ground on new NECC Applied Technology building

NORFOLK - When Northeast Community College’s new Applied Technology Facility opens its doors in two years, it will provide a state-of-the-art venue in which to educate more than 200 students in five different disciplines.  Governor Dave Heineman helped break ground on the new 67,000 square foot structure that is set to open in 2015.  Heineman told the students he’s talked with business leaders and contractors across Nebraska.  "They need you," said Heineman.  "I don't want a single one of you to leave the state of Nebraska.  I know we have jobs all over the state for you."  The new Applied Technology Facility will be located on the north end of the Northeast campus.  When complete it will house the HVAC, Building Construction, Electromechanical, Electrical Construction and a portion of the Wind Energy Technology programs.
