Governor encourages participatin in tax talks
NORFOLK - The Legislature's Tax Modernization Committee is holding meetings across the state, including one in Norfolk later this year. Governor Dave Heineman encourages Nebraskans to share their opinions with committee members. Heineman says the state's income tax is the 36th highest in the nation and needs to be lowered to make the state more competitive. The Tax Modernization Committee in Norfolk is scheduled for Thursday, September 26th from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Northeast Community College's Lifelong Learning Center.
