Gov. Heineman Supports Graduation Goal
LINCOLN - The Norfolk Public Schools recently set a goal of a 90-percent 4-year cohort graduation rate, but also commented that not all students are able to graduate in four years. Governor Dave Heineman supports that goal as well as the Omaha Public Schools' decision to require a 2.0 grade point average for participation in sports or other activities. He says he recognizes the importance of activities in building job skills, but thinks the classroom performance is most important. Heineman says he is pleased with the increase in scores on state-wide testing..
