Fire Destroys Historical Building in Laurel
LAUREL - Fire has destroyed a bank and insurance office in Laurel. The fire broke out yesterday shortly before 6 a.m. KCAU-TV reports that several crews from surrounding towns were dispatched to help with the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department. The fire gutted the Laurel National Bank, an historic structure that dates back to 1902. Fire crews worked into the afternoon. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
