Fire Danger Conditions Are Critical

NORFOLK - The National Weather Service has issued a "Red Flag Warning" for a large part of Nebraska due to continued dry conditions. This type of warning means critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures will create "explosive fire growth potential." Winds will be out of the southwest at 15-to-25 miles per hour with gusts up to 30 mph expected. Minimum afternoon temperatures will likely fall below 20-percent for a few hours. The Weather Service reports no thunderstorms are predicted.
