Fire Damages Norfolk Home

NORFOLK - The Norfolk Fire Division battled a house fire over the noon hour Tuesday.  Firefighters were dispatched to the home of Brad and Roxann Bussey at 416 Lincoln Avenue.   Crews encountered moderate smoke and flame when accessing the home’s attic space.  Fire Inspector Dan Nelson says it took 35 firefighters and three rigs about 20 minutes to control the fire and another hour to overhaul the structure.  According to Nelson, faulty wiring was the cause.  Nelson says the $85,000 home sustained approximately $30,000 in damages.  Another $15,000 worth of contents was destroyed.  The Red Cross, Salvation Army, NPPD, the city’s Water Division and Black Hills Energy all assisted.  No civilians or firefighters were injured.
