Farm bill goes down to defeat in House

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. House of Representatives has failed to pass a farm bill. The final vote on the 2013 Federal Agriculture Reform and Risk Management Act was 195-234.  Nebraska First District Congressman Jeff Fortenberry tells us that farm policy and agriculture are not well understood in Washington. Third District Congressman Adrian Smith says he's very disappointed.  Smith says the battle over food stamps sunk the bill, with some Republicans claiming cuts to the program didn't go far enough and some Democrats saying they went too far.
