Fairbury Fugitive Has Norfolk Ties
NORFOLK - A man wanted in connection with sexually assaulting children in the Fairbury area has ties to Norfolk. Norfolk Police Captain Michael Bauer says 30-year-old Billy Barritt is a former resident of the area. He is currently being sought in connection with first degree sexual assault of a child and three counts of third-degree sexual assault of a child in Fairbury. Authorities in southeast Nebraska say Barritt is on probation for being a felon in possession of a firearm, and believe he could be armed. Barritt is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, 180 pounds with reddish-brown hair and glasses. He is believed to be driving a black 1997 Chevy K1500 pickup with Nebraska license plate 33-2172. Anyone with information on Barritt's location is asked to call the Norfolk Police Division, Madison County Sheriff's office or Nebraska State Patrol.
