Dittman Arrested for Arson, Assault, Terroristic Threats
NORFOLK - A 40-year-old Norfolk man has been arrested after threatening to burn a home occupied by a woman and two pets. Norfolk Police Chief Bill Mizner says Cory Dittman faces charges of first-degree arson, making terroristic threats and third degree domestic assault in connection with the incident, which occurred just before midnight Saturday. Mizner reports that officers were called to the home at 1410 South 2nd Street at 11:55 Saturday night by a woman who said she was inside the home and that Dittman was preparing to set the house on fire. Officers were able to help the woman escape through a bedroom window. Officers observed flames and smoke in the home, and were able to convince Dittman to leave the residence at about 12:39 Sunday morning. Dittman was transported to Faith Regional Health at that time, and arrested yesterday.
