Denver Man Arrested for Threatening to Burn Occupied House

NORFOLK - Norfolk police have arrested a Denver man on charges that he threatened to burn down an occupied house in Norfolk Saturday night. Police Chief Bill Mizner says 42-year-old Kevin Jowers is accused of threatening to burn down a house at 301 South 3rd Street about 10 p.m. Saturday night. Officers were told that several men came to the house to get a resident to pay some money he owed them. Jowers allegedly poured gasoline around the house and yelled at the subject inside that he had only 30 seconds to come out before he would burn him out. Jowers was arrested for making terroristic threats and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. He was booked into the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
