Council Tables Request For New Scale
NORFOLK - A proposal to accept a new bid on a second scale at Norfolk's Solid Waste Transfer station turned into a lengthy discussion on finances. Public Works Director Dennis Smith said at Tuesday night's Council meeting, the scale would not be financed by general fund tax dollars, but through the Solid Waste Division's enterprise fund, which comes primarily through user fees. In order to discuss the matter further, the Council voted six-to-two to table the matter until it's next meeting. Councilmen Jim Lange and Vickie Saunders voted no.
