Commissioners Looking at Funding Possibilities

MADISON - When the city of Madison asked the Madison County Board of Commissioners to partially fund an engineering study for the Madison Area Industrial Park, the answer was regretfully, “no.”  The budget didn’t allow for the appropriation.  Instead the commissioners initiated the idea of a revolving loan fund that would be for available for agencies throughout the county and administered by a board separate from the commissioners.  In researching the concept, Commissioner Christian Ohl learned that federal funds may be available as well.  Ohl says the fund would be used to loan money to county agencies for special projects such as the Industrial Park engineering study.
