Comedy Festival Begins With Magic Show
NORFOLK - Magic is the air for the first of the four-day Great American Comedy Festival presented by Nucor. The festival honors Norfolk’s most famous native son, Johnny Carson, whose accomplishments as a comedian are well-documented, but Festival executive director Lori Williams says some forget that he was also an accomplished magician. Two afternoon children’s “Laugh and Learn Magic Classes,” start festivities at the Elkhorn Valley Museum. All of the tickets have been sold. Then Wednesday nght three of the nation's top magicians take the Johnny Carson Theatre stage. Professional comedians will be in the spotlight take the Johnny Carson Theatre spotlight Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
