Columbus Murder Suspect Turns Himself In

COLUMBUS (AP) - Authorities say a man suspected of killing another man at a Columbus motel is in custody after he turned himself in at the Platte County jail. Ozzy Tilden, of Columbus, is accused of stabbing to death Jerry Garcia on Oct. 8. An arrest warrant was issued last week for Tilden, 20, on charges of first-degree murder and use of a deadly weapon. Columbus police say Tilden turned himself in on Monday. Platte County Attorney Carl K. Hart Jr. says a bond hearing for Tilden is set for Tuesday. He declined to comment on the circumstances surrounding Tilden's surrender or whether he had an attorney. Online court records include the case but no attorney is listed.
