Colorado flooding spreads to Nebraska
NORTH PLATTE - Flooding in Colorado has brought concerns for Nebraska. University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension State Climatologist Al Dutcher says there is a lot of uncertainty as to how much impact flooding along the South Platte will have on Nebraska. Dutcher says this excess water may improve the irrigation supply in Nebraska by filling up canals with water that can’t be stored or sent to the Missouri River. He says the rains that Colorado has experienced in the last week changed what had been the driest year on record in that state to the wettest.
