City Sticks With Its Insurance Carrier

NORFOLK - The City of Norfolk plans to stick with its insurance carrier. Last spring, bids were submitted from the League Association of Risk Management as well as local private insurance carriers. Members of the Nebraska League of Municipalities operate the risk-sharing pool that makes up LARM. Consultant Ken Beres recommends staying with LARM based, in part, on competitive premiums and pool coverage stability. Three local insurance companies did submit bids - Insurance Associates, Town and Country Agency and New Century Agency - along with Arthur Gallagher of Sioux City. The city's coverage, approved by the Council Tuesday night 8-0, runs through September, 2015.
