City Council to hold hearing on street lights

NORFOLK - Among the items on tonight’s (Monday’s) Norfolk City Council agenda is a hearing on two downtown stoplights that have been inoperable for about four months.  The stoplights at the intersections of Norfolk Avenue with 2nd and 3rd streets have been covered and replaced by stop signs for north-south traffic. A study is being conducted to see if the lights can be removed permanently, or if they should be updated and returned to service.  Tonight’s meeting begins at 5:30 in the City Council Chambers at 309 North 5th Street. After the meeting, Mayor Sue Fuchtman and at least one councilman from each of the city’s four wards will remain to have coffee with citizens and visit about their concerns.
