City Council approves change order for sewer construction

NORFOLK - The Norfolk City Council voted unanimously Monday night to approve a change order with Rutjens Construction for the sewer construction work west of the Water Pollution Control project.  The change provides for the installation of a 54-inch sewer line to better match the capacity of the existing lines approaching the junction manhole and replacing the two deteriorating 36-inch pipes.  The change order will increase the cost of the sewer project by $376,000.  City staff and a subcommittee of council members had recommended approval of the change order earlier this month.
