Cash Leases to be Discussed at Farm Show
NORFOLK - One of the most popular seminars each year at the Northeast Nebraska Farm and Equipment Show is the discussion of cash rents and land values, and this year’s presentation is scheduled at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Nebraska Extension Educator Allan Vyhnalek says the issue in 2015 will be that what should be paid for cash rent and what will be paid are two very different numbers. Vyhnalek’s session will cover land prices and lease rates, good communications, and provisions that might be included in a lease. The 28th annual farm show will be held Wednesday and Thursday in the Chuck Pohlman Ag Complex at Northeast Community College. Hours are from 9 to 5 Wednesday and 9 to 4 Thursday. There is no admission charge. More than 130 vendors are taking part in this year’s show, hosted by radio stations NewsTalk WJAG and 106KIX. Demonstrations over the two days will include a rainfall simulator and high voltage safety. DOT health monitoring information will also be available both days.
