Brunig will not run for governor
NORFOLK - When Norfolk’s Mike Flood pulled out of the governor’s race late in 2012, many speculated that Attorney General Jon Bruning would become a candidate for the 2014 Republican nomination. But today Bruning told reporters he has no plans to run for Governor of Nebraska. Bruning WAS a candidate for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate in 2012, losing in a close primary race to Deb Fischer. Fischer went on to defeat Bob Kerrey in the November General Election.
