Bids Sought On Memorial Park Project
NORFOLK - The Norfolk City Council has given the go-ahead to seek bids on projects related to a citizens approved upgrade of Norfolk's Veterans Memorial Park. Curtis Johnson with the DLR architectural firm told the Council Monday afternoon, bids will soon be sought on the new artificial turf for the football-soccer complex and other components to the project. He says work will begin in April. Johnson says turf bids options will include ready for use by this fall or ready for use by autumn 2012. He says there will likely being some congestion at the park -- especially late summer when demolition begins on the present baseball bleachers and press box in late July and the swimming pool in August.
