Battle Creek students remain hospitalized in Omaha

BATTLE CREEK - Two Battle Creek school students remain hospitalized following the collision of a semi-trailer and the bus on which they were passengers.  Both students, 14-year-old Courtney Livingston and 11-year-old Bailey Hurlburt suffered head injuries and were transported to Omaha hospitals.  Livingsoton has regained consciousness and remains in serious condition at the Creighton University Medical Center’s ICU.  St. John Lutheran School principal Nick Onnen says Hurlburt, according to her parents, feels much better and that there’s a possibility she could be released as soon as today from Children’s Hospital.  Eleven other student bus passengers were treated at a Norfolk hospital and released.  The accident occurred Monday morning at about 7:15, five miles west of Norfolk on Highway 275.  The Nebraska State Patrol says dense fog is believed to have been a contributing factor.
