Auwarter Named Interim CEO of Faith Regional
NORFOLK - A current vice president at Faith Regional Health Services has been named to lead the hospital through the transition to a new president and CEO. Tim Auwarter is the Vice President of Ancillary and Support Services. The Board of Directors of Faith Regional and the Lutheran Community Hospital Association Board of Directors announced today that Auwarter, who joined the Faith Regional staff last year, will serve as the interim president and CEO. LCHA Board President Dr. Dan Karmazin praised Auwarter's leadership skills and health care experience. He says Auwarter's appointment will allow the boards to move forward with the search for a replacement for Jim Sinek, who resigned earlier this month to pursue opportunities with larger health care organizations. Mike Hammond, executive director of regional system development at Faith Regional, will provide physician relationships leadership. Hammond served as interim CEO at the hospital before Sinek was hired in 2008. He was also the interim administrator at Providence Medical Center in Wayne in 2011.
