Area Man Wants Kidnapping Plea Vacated
MADISON - A man who forced a 14-year-old boy into his car this summer in Newman Grove was to be sentenced today in Madison County District Court. But instead, a motion was filed on behalf of Jose Llerenas-Alvarado, 46, to have his no contest plea vacated and set aside. Prosecutors had already reduced the charge against him from felony kidnapping, for which he could have faced life in prison. His motion will be heard on November 18th. Court documents says Llerenas-Alvarado propositioned the boy and his brother June fourth. The 14-year-old was able to get away after being forced into the car while the brother never got in the vehicle.
