Area Man Faces Charges After Pursuit

PILGER - A Wayne man face numerous charges after he led authorities on a chase after initially being pulled over for speeding. Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger says Jeffrey Mrsny, 49, was stopped around 6:40 Sunday evening on Highway 15 three miles northeast of Pilger. It was determined he was driving under the influence of alcohol. He says Mrsny took off in his pickup and led officers on a chase into Cuming County. After his pickup lost its rear left tire, the vehicle traveled another 30 yards. Mrsny then ran into a corn field, but was apprehended a short time later. Unger says Mrsny faces charges of second offense driving under the influence, resisting arrest, willful reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest and speeding.
