37th Annual threshing bee this weekend in Pierce

PIERCE - The 37th annual Pierce Old Time Threshers Bee will be held Saturday and Sunday on the fairgrounds in Pierce.  There's no admission charge but purchase of raffle tickets is encouraged. Tickets cost $1 each, or 6 for $5. The winner will have the choice of a restored 1952 Ford 8N tractor of $2,000 in cash.  Saturday activities begin with the FFA District tractor driving contest at 8. Sunday kicks off with a 9 a.m. church service featuring the Johansen Sisters. The Parade of Power will begin at 2 on Saturday and at 3 on Sunday.  Other activities include an antique auction at 9 a.m. Saturday, vendors, antique displays, a children’s money scramble – and of course, oats threshing.  Friday, the 8th annual tractor drive will begin at 1 p.m. at the fairgrounds. Tractors will drive south of Pierce on country roads and Highway 275, and are expected at Dinkel Implement on the west edge of Norfolk at about 2:30.
