3 former Omaha mayors back Hassebrook for governor

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Nebraska gubernatorial candidate Chuck Hassebrook has received endorsements from three former Omaha mayors.  Former mayors Mike Boyle, Mike Fahey and Jim Suttle announced their support for Hassebrook on Monday at a news conference in Omaha.  Hassebrook is a former University of Nebraska Regent, and served as director of the Center for Rural Affairs, a group that advocates for small towns and family farms.  He is looking to replace Gov. Dave Heineman, who is leaving office in 2015 because of term limits. The only other Democratic candidate in the primary race is state Sen. Annette Dubas, of Fullerton. Dubas formally kicked off her campaign on Sunday, and is traveling the state to meet with voters.  Five Republican candidates are also running for the seat.
